Bringing the People’s Voice
Back Into Government
For generations, politicians have promised to represent the people.
The Farmer Servant movement asks a different question:
Why should elected officials guess what the people want when technology allows them to ask?
The People’s App is designed to give every verified Oklahoma voter a direct voice by allowing elected officials to poll the people in real time on the issues facing our state.
This is not a voting app that replaces the Legislature or the Governor.
It is a communication tool that allows government to hear directly from the people before making important decisions.
Government should listen to the people every day—not just on Election Day.
Step 1: Every Verified Oklahoma Voter Has a Voice
Every eligible Oklahoma voter will be able to securely register for the People’s App.
Strong identity verification and cybersecurity measures will ensure that responses come from verified Oklahoma voters while protecting personal information.
The goal is simple:
One verified voter. One secure voice.
Step 2: Real-Time Polling on Important Issues
Instead of relying on political consultants, lobbyists, or small opinion polls, elected officials can ask the people directly.
When significant issues arise, elected officials can post questions through the People’s App and receive real-time feedback from verified Oklahoma voters.
Topics might include:
- Major legislation
- Budget priorities
- Infrastructure projects
- Education proposals
- Healthcare reforms
- Criminal justice policies
- Water policy
- Economic development
- Executive decisions
- Other important issues affecting Oklahoma
The purpose is not to replace representative government.
The purpose is to ensure representatives actually know what the people they represent think.
Step 3: Give the Governor Direct Public Feedback
Before making major executive decisions, the Governor can poll Oklahoma citizens through the People’s App to better understand public opinion.
The Governor remains responsible for making decisions under the Constitution, but those decisions will be informed by the voices of the people—not just political insiders.
Step 4: Give Legislators Better Information
State Representatives and State Senators should be able to poll the people they represent before casting important votes.
Instead of wondering how their district feels about an issue, they can ask.
This creates a stronger connection between elected officials and their constituents while helping legislators make more informed decisions.
Step 5: Give the People a Voice in Clemency
One of the Governor’s greatest responsibilities is deciding whether to grant clemency or a pardon.
After the Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board completes its review, the Governor may choose to poll the public through the People’s App to better understand the views of Oklahoma citizens before making a final decision.
The Governor would also consider:
- The recommendation of the Pardon and Parole Board
- Public safety
- The interests of victims
- The facts of the case
- Constitutional and legal responsibilities
The final decision remains with the Governor, but the people deserve the opportunity to have their voices heard.
Step 6: Connect Citizens Directly With Government
The People’s App also gives citizens an easy way to:
- Submit ideas
- Recommend policy improvements
- Report concerns
- Participate in surveys
- Share feedback
- Communicate with elected officials
The best ideas often come from the people living with the consequences of government decisions.
Step 7: Increase Transparency
The People’s App works together with the People’s Table to make government more transparent.
Citizens will be able to review:
- Proposed legislation
- Executive initiatives
- Agency reports
- Budget information
- Polling results
- Public feedback
- Government updates
Government should not operate behind closed doors.
Step 8: Protect Privacy and Security
Security is essential.
The People’s App will use strong identity verification, encryption, cybersecurity protections, and independent security testing to protect voter information and maintain public confidence.
Step 9: Strengthen Representative Government
The People’s App does not replace elections.
It does not replace legislators.
It does not replace the Governor.
It strengthens representative government by giving elected officials better information about what the people they represent actually think.
Instead of making assumptions, government can simply ask.
The Goal
The People’s App is designed to restore trust between citizens and their government.
For too long, government has talked to the people.
The Farmer Servant movement believes it is time for government to start listening to the people.
The People’s App creates an opportunity for elected officials to hear directly from the citizens they serve in real time, making government more transparent, more accountable, and more responsive.
Because government belongs to the people.
And the best decisions are made when leaders take the time to listen.
It’s a WE thing, not a ME thing.
